Effective date: November 1, 2026
Last updated: November 1, 2026
Radley Family Law (referred to in this Privacy Policy as “Radley Family Law,” “the Firm,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects the privacy of clients, prospective clients, website visitors, and other individuals whose personal information we handle. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal information in connection with our legal practice and our website, https://radleylaw.ca/ (the “Website”).
We handle personal information in accordance with applicable Canadian privacy law, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) where it applies, and with our professional duties as lawyers in Ontario. This Policy does not replace any privacy information or terms that may be provided in a retainer agreement or other engagement document.

2. Personal information we collect
“Personal information” means information about an identifiable individual. Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect the following categories of personal information.
- Consultation request, telephone call, email, or other direct contact – name, email address, telephone number, communication preferences, the service requested, and the information you choose to provide about your legal issue.
- Prospective-client or client relationship – Information reasonably required to complete a conflict check, assess whether we can assist, deliver legal services, manage a client file, bill for services, and meet legal and professional obligations. This may include information that is sensitive, depending on the matter.
- Website use – IP address, browser and device type, operating system, approximate location derived from IP address, pages viewed, referring source, interactions with the Website, date/time of visit, and cookie or similar-technology identifiers.
- Advertising and analytics – Information about whether an individual arrived through or interacted with a Google advertisement; cookie/device identifiers; ad and campaign interactions; page visits; and limited conversion information, such as a consultation-request completion or an eligible call connected after an ad interaction. See Sections 6 and 7.
- Security and fraud prevention – Technical and device information reasonably needed to secure the Website, prevent spam, verify legitimate form activity, and investigate misuse.
Sensitive information and legal inquiries
Family law matters can involve highly sensitive personal information. Please provide only the information reasonably necessary for us to respond to an initial inquiry or to complete a conflict check. Do not send documents, identification numbers, financial account information, children’s information, medical information, passwords, or other highly sensitive details through the Website unless we specifically ask you to do so through an appropriate channel.
Sending us an inquiry, using the Website, or requesting a consultation does not by itself create a solicitor-client relationship. Until we confirm that we can act for you and enter into an engagement, you should not assume that a solicitor-client relationship exists.
3. Why we collect, use, and disclose personal information
We collect, use, and disclose personal information only for purposes that are identified at or before collection, or as otherwise permitted or required by applicable law. Those purposes may include:
- responding to an inquiry, arranging a consultation, completing an initial conflict check, and deciding whether we can assist you;
- providing legal services if we are retained, administering client relationships and files, communicating with clients, and billing or collecting payment;
- complying with legal, regulatory, ethical, insurance, accounting, and professional obligations;
- operating, maintaining, securing, troubleshooting, and improving the Website and our services;
- preventing spam, fraud, security incidents, and misuse of the Website;
- measuring the performance of the Website and advertising campaigns, only as described in Sections 6 and 7 and subject to your cookie choices; and
- communicating about our services where permitted by law and where you have given any consent required for that communication.
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We do not use the contents of a legal inquiry, prospective-client information, client information, or a client file to create advertising audiences or to personalize advertising.
4. Consent and your choices
We obtain consent for the collection, use, or disclosure of personal information where required by law. The form of consent depends on the sensitivity of the information and the reasonable expectations in the circumstances. We seek express consent for sensitive information and for optional Website technologies used for analytics or advertising.
Cookie choices
When you first visit the Website, you can use our cookie banner or the Cookie Settings link in the Website footer to accept, reject, or change your choices for optional analytics and advertising technologies. Optional technologies are off by default until you choose to enable the relevant category. Rejecting optional cookies will not prevent you from accessing the main content of the Website or from contacting us by telephone or email.
You may also manage cookies through your browser settings. Blocking or deleting cookies may affect certain Website functions. Browser controls alone may not stop all third-party technology from processing data where you have separately interacted with that third party or are logged into its services.
You may withdraw consent to optional processing at any time by contacting our Privacy Officer. Withdrawal does not affect processing already completed and may limit features that depend on the withdrawn consent.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small text files placed on a browser. Similar technologies include pixels, tags, local storage, and device identifiers. The Website uses, or may use, the following categories.
| Category | Purpose | Examples of providers or technologies | Choice |
| Strictly necessary and security | Run the Website; retain necessary session or preference information; protect forms and the Website from spam, fraud, and abuse. | WordPress and WPForms; Google reCAPTCHA. | Required for the relevant Website feature. You may instead contact us by phone or email if you prefer not to use a protected web form. |
| Form and service functionality | Receive and administer consultation requests and, where enabled, provide a chat or lead-contact feature. | WPForms; LiveLeads. | We provide notice at the point of collection. Any non-essential chat or lead-contact technology is activated only with the applicable cookie choice. |
| Analytics | Understand aggregate Website use, diagnose problems, and improve Website content and performance. | Google Analytics 4; WPForms User Journey, if enabled. | Optional; enabled only after analytics consent. |
| Advertising measurement | Measure whether Google Ads led to a Website visit, consultation request, or eligible call; limit and assess campaign performance. | Google Ads (formerly Google AdWords) conversion and phone-call measurement. | Optional; enabled only after advertising consent. |
| Embedded third-party content | Display third-party content or services that you choose to load or use. | Google Maps; Trustindex review widget; social-media links or embedded content, if any. | Optional where the content is not necessary. Your interaction with the third party is also subject to that party’s privacy practices. |
Cookie names, retention periods, and providers may change as our service providers update their products. Our Cookie Settings tool provides the current choices available on the Website.
6. Google Analytics
With your analytics consent, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the Website. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect information such as device and browser information, approximate location inferred from IP address, pages viewed, referring source, and interactions with the Website. We use aggregated reporting to assess Website performance and improve our content and services.
We configure our Website and analytics implementation to avoid sending Google Analytics personal information, including names, email addresses, telephone numbers, form-field contents, legal-issue descriptions, client information, or other sensitive information. We do not use Google Analytics to analyze or build audiences from an individual’s legal matter, consultation request, or client relationship.
You can withdraw analytics consent using Cookie Settings. You may also use the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on if it is available for your browser. Google explains how it collects and processes information through Google Analytics in its privacy information and Analytics data safeguards documentation.
7. Google Ads conversion and phone-call measurement
With your advertising consent, we use Google Ads conversion measurement to understand whether our Google advertising campaigns lead to Website visits, consultation requests, or calls to a Firm telephone number after an ad interaction. Google Ads may use cookies, tags, and device or browser identifiers to associate a conversion event with an advertisement. For eligible phone-call measurement, the information may include the fact that a call was connected after an ad interaction and related measurement data, such as time or duration, depending on the configuration.
We use conversion measurement to assess and improve the effectiveness of our advertising, not to infer or target an individual’s family-law situation. We do not send Google Ads the content of legal inquiries, form fields, client information, communications, or other sensitive information. We do not use legal-inquiry or client information for Customer Match, enhanced conversions, remarketing, or advertising-audience creation.
Our Website is configured so that Google Analytics and Google Ads tags do not receive form-field values or legal-issue details. We also take steps to prevent advertising or analytics measurement from operating on a page or event where it could reveal the substance of an inquiry.
You can withdraw advertising consent through Cookie Settings. You can also review Google’s ad controls and information about how Google uses cookies.
8. Other third-party services and links
We may use service providers to host, operate, secure, support, or improve the Website and our practice. Depending on the features you use, those providers may process personal information on our behalf. We require service providers handling personal information for us to protect it appropriately and to use it only for authorized purposes.
The Website may include links to social-media platforms, Google Maps, review services, and other third-party websites. When you follow a link or choose to load third-party content, that third party may collect information under its own privacy policy. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites or services. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
Google reCAPTCHA
We use Google reCAPTCHA on Website forms to help detect spam and abusive activity. Your use of reCAPTCHA is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. If you do not wish to use this form-protection feature, please contact us by telephone or email instead.
9. When we disclose personal information
We may disclose personal information:
- to our lawyers, staff, and authorized service providers who need it for the purposes described in this Policy;
- to third parties with your consent or at your direction;
- in connection with providing legal services, where authorized by you, required to deliver the service, or permitted or required by law;
- to comply with a legal, regulatory, court, insurance, professional, or other lawful requirement; or
- to protect the security, rights, property, or safety of the Firm, our clients, Website visitors, or others, where permitted or required by law.
We do not disclose client or prospective-client information to advertising platforms for advertising targeting.
10. International processing
Some of our service providers, including providers of Website, analytics, security, communications, or cloud services, may process or store personal information outside Ontario or outside Canada, including in the United States. Personal information processed in another jurisdiction may be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction and may be accessible to courts, law-enforcement agencies, or other authorities there in accordance with those laws.
We remain accountable for personal information in our control and use contractual and other appropriate measures to require service providers to protect it while they process it for us.
11. Safeguards
We use safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the personal information and the nature of our services. These safeguards include administrative, technical, and physical measures designed to protect personal information against loss, theft, unauthorized access, use, disclosure, copying, modification, or disposal.
No method of Internet transmission or electronic storage is completely secure. Please use care when providing information online and contact us by telephone if you have concerns about transmitting sensitive information through the Website.
If we identify a privacy breach involving personal information in our control, we will investigate, contain, and respond to it. Where required by law, we will notify affected individuals and the appropriate regulator and maintain required records.
12. Retention and disposal
We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the identified purposes, to provide legal services, to comply with legal and professional obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce our agreements. Retention periods vary with the nature of the information and the legal matter.
For Website analytics and advertising data, we use retention settings that are no longer than reasonably necessary for measurement and improvement and delete or de-identify data when it is no longer needed. When personal information is no longer required, we securely destroy, erase, or anonymize it in accordance with our retention practices and applicable law.
13. Access, correction, and complaints
Subject to applicable law and any permitted exceptions, you may request access to personal information we hold about you and ask that inaccurate or incomplete information be corrected. Please make your request in writing to our Privacy Officer and provide enough information for us to verify your identity and locate the relevant records.
We will respond with due diligence and generally within 30 days, subject to any extension or other procedure permitted by law. In limited circumstances, applicable law may permit or require us to refuse access to some information; if so, we will explain the reason to the extent permitted by law.
If we cannot resolve your concern, you may be able to contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at www.priv.gc.ca or the privacy regulator with jurisdiction over your complaint.
14. Children
The Website is not directed to children. We do not knowingly use optional analytics or advertising technologies to track children. If you believe that a child has provided personal information through the Website without appropriate authorization, please contact our Privacy Officer.
15. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our privacy practices, Website technologies, legal requirements, or services. We will post the updated Policy on the Website and change the “Last updated” date. For material changes, we will provide additional notice where appropriate or required by law.
