Primary Duties

  • Drafting legal documents (Prepare and revise court documents including but not limited to pleadings, affidavits, separation agreements, motion materials, minutes of settlement, and financial statements as required)
  • Drafting correspondence to clients and lawyers (Draft and send correspondence to the Court, opposing counsel, clients, and external parties, including support payment summaries and extraordinary expenses)
  • Liaise with process server to serve and file court documents
  • Schedule appointments and maintain appointment calendar
  • Coordinate arrangements for meetings/conferences and Court appearances
  • Maintain files/records with a high level of organization
  • PCLaw accounting, Leap DivorceMate
  • Other duties as required

Required Experience / Skills / Qualifications

  • Completion of a Law Clerk Program with a recognized institution
  • At least 5 years of Family Law litigation experience
  • Knowledge of the Family Law Rules and Family Court process and procedure including timelines for service and confirmations of court documents
  • Must thrive under pressure and prioritize effectively while paying attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to work well independently as well as in a team setting
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Technical proficiency (MS Office Suite, PC Law, Leap DivorceMate)
